27 Womans – 30 Years Men

Age Groups

Minimum number of participants required to conduct competition: 8 teams

Water Polo Sport Program

Additional Information

The competition will be conducted under standard World Aquatics Rules
Playing conditions will be 8-minute quarters with running time
All participants are required to be a current member of a water polo club
Teams will be required to provide 1 x Community Level Qualified Referee and 2 x Table officials for their games

Players over 70 will be identified by a cap of different colour than their teams and the oppositions caps and either:

· Cannot be fouled;

· A goal scored counts for 2 points.

Where multiple age groups are combined the following handicap system will apply:

Average Age Handicap – Goal Advantage

40 or less, 0
41 – 45, 2
46 – 50, 4
51 – 55, 6
56 – 60, 8
61+, 10
Each team’s handicap is the score in which they will start each game with.

Age Dispensation

All players have the ability to play down in age
2 Players who are within one year of reaching an older age category may be eligible to compete in that group, provided they receive dispensation. Dispensation requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. All applications for dispensation must be submitted via email to ceo@waterpoloact.com prior to the competition, and should include a brief summary of the circumstances, along with the player’s date of birth and playing history
After approval has come through from sporting committee you need to register the player and select *please place me into a team. Then email ceo@waterpoloact.com and amg.admin@unisport.com.au let them know.
