Free public transport for AMG participants and supporters
Make the most out of your experience with FREE public transport during the Australian Masters Games this 18-25 October!
Getting to and from your sport, meeting up with teammates, or exploring Canberra just got easier. In a win for athletes, supporters, and volunteers, free public transport will be available for all accredited Australian Masters Games attendees during Games week in Canberra, 18-25 October 2025.
Thanks to the ACT Government and Transport Canberra, this initiative means you won’t need to worry about transport costs when moving between competition venues, social events and accommodation. Simply show your AMG accreditation to ride any Transport Canberra bus or light rail service at no charge. More details on collecting your accreditation will be announced closer to the event.
“We know that ease of movement is important to our participants, especially when some are competing across multiple venues or supporting friends and family across different locations,” said Adam Drinkwell, Australian Masters Games General Manager.
“Free access to Canberra’s public transport network makes the Games more accessible, more affordable and more enjoyable for everyone,” Adam added.
Canberra’s public transport system includes modern, accessible buses and a light rail line that links the city centre with Gungahlin in the north. Key venues such as the National Hockey Centre, AIS Arena, Exhibition Park and popular social event locations are all within reach using public transport.
With more than 50 sports, and a packed social calendar, the 20th Australian Masters Games will keep everyone on the move. Free public transport means one less thing to plan for, and more freedom to enjoy everything the Games have to offer.
