Age Requirements
Age determined at 31 December 2025
Minimum age 40 years women, 45 years Men
Age Groups and Divisons
Women’s
Competitive (with Goal Keepers) 40+, 50+, 60+
Social (no Goal Keepers) 40+, 55+
Men’s
Competitive (with Goal Keepers) 45+, 55+, 65+, 70+
Social (no Goal Keepers) 50+, 65+
Mixed
Competitive (with Goal Keepers) 40+, 50+, 60+
Social (no Goal Keepers) 50+ (Women 45+ Men 50+), 65+ (Women 60 – Men 65+)

Minimum: Walking Football (7)
Maximum: Walking Football (12)
Number of Participant Requirements
Minimum number of teams required to conduct competition: 4 teams
Additional information
- There are two divisions offered for Walking Football for Women’s, Men’s and Mixed competition.
- Competitive – with Goal Keepers (5 out field players + goal keeper + up to 6 substitutes)
- Social No Goal Keepers (6 out field players + up to 6 substitutes)
- Mixed competitions will always require a minimum of three female players on the field.
- Walking football is a NO contact version of the World Game.
- No Heading and no slide tackles are allowed.
- No running , jogging or jumping with or without the ball. Slow running is still running and not permitted!
- All efforts will be made to avoid Football and Walking Football match times clashing.
- Sport fee includes referee cost for participants
- Individual Entries will be accommodated if possible.  If you are an individual looking for a Team, use the Bulletin Board to post you are looking for a Team and/or check who is looking for players.
Age Exemptions
- All players have the ability to play down in age. For example, a 56 year old can play in 50+ or 55+ categories.
- A maximum of one Player who is within two years of reaching an older age category may be eligible to compete in that category, provided they receive an Age Exemption.
- Age Exemption requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. All applications for Age Exemption must be submitted via email to amg2025@capitalfootball.com.au prior to the competition, and should include a brief summary of the circumstances, along with the player’s date of birth and playing history.
- Once approved by the Walking Football Convenor, you need to register the player and select *please place me into a team. Then email amg2025@capitalfootball.com.au and amg.admin@unisport.com.au so the player can be added to your team.

Rules
The walking football competition will be conducted under FA Laws of the Games, with minor rule changes as specified.
